| Q. Hey, Greg, I need some kind of cheap (or free) software that'll let me take a series of Bitmap images and turn them into a Flash movie or video. They don't need to run full screen, although I'd prefer that. I've tried one free program whch does it (called Clipyard), but it's labor-intensive, and your movie can only be half a minute long or so. I'd sur apprciate it if you can come up with any suggestions. Dave A. Best to convert the bitmap images to jpeg first so the flash file isn't too big. I have a flash slideshow maker on my site. I turned off phising on norton on my computer since Internet Explorer allows me to see the true link now anyway and I know paypal or my bank will never email me asking me to verify . | Q. Thanks Greg. Couldn't you use a new version, I know that there are some "unreputable" websites that read my IP and know exactly where i am. How do they do it if your Atlas can't? I know its the IP because if i run the site through Iphide.com, it comes up with a Chicago location. A. your computer sends out loads of information to another server say for example when you open a website. And most good servers have some type of statistics script so the user can check their stats that are visiting their site. If you click on fun stuff on my site your ip will show up on a little sign. However nobody can see that but only you. Also remember your ip is just your isp and don't tell anybody exactly where you live or anything. that script I had was using Netgeo that made it work but since they no longer update that or provide support my script no longer works. Iphide is an anonymous websurfing site. So when you use iphide and go to a site that shows your ip, the ip that will show is the ip of the server of iphide and not yours. | Ben M asked: 03-2007-17 |
| Q. Do you know why most of the IP Addresses I type into the IP Atlas come up as being from Marina Del Rey, California, USA? It says thats where i am, but im actually in Newcastle upon-Tyne in the UK. Wikipedia don't mention any big servers or providers based there so i can't work it out. Thanks. A.
