Mar 2, 2010 - This is hillarious. WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THAT THEY NEED THE INTERNET ALL OF THE TIME? Some of you may not believe it but, some people just can't go one day or one hour without the net. Biggest excuse, "I run a home business and blah blah blah" Then why do you have a residential account? They are liars who need their net "fix".
Devilzwishbone2009 Says:
Mar 4, 2010 - @stopthrm I take it you work for an ISP as i used to think the same working for Virgin Media however I am self employed and require the internet to do web design for clients now I work from home as that way i cut down on overheads from renting a commercial store, electric, water etc So maybe you need to rethink about people being liars and be more open minded, Because its classified as a small business you should know it goes as a residential acc and not business as u can only have a business...
Devilzwishbone2009 Says:
Mar 4, 2010 - ... account if the property being served is a commercial address, for instance a block of flats would only be residential and the ISP wont give the customer a business acc If it was a warehouse or store in a high street then its classified as commercial. Not quite as simple as "Then why do you have a residential account?"

Mar 10, 2010 - Oh damn. My internet went out for the last hour, and I totally had this stuck in my head. But I couldn't go online to watch it and get it out of my head!! Oh cruel Fate.
stopthrm Says:
Mar 10, 2010 - Uh, yea your a dumb ass. You can ave a residential and a business connection, not to mention that business customers get much better and immediate response for connection issues. Not to mention being able to have a static ip which is almost a must. You really don't know a lot, do you?
Devilzwishbone2009 Says:
Mar 12, 2010 - No you can't Virgin Media's website html/legal/oncable/terms.html You are responsible for the way the services are used. You must not use the services to do any of the following acts or allow anyone else to use the services to do such acts: h: Use any services (including, but not limited to, phone services) for commercial or business purposes
Devilzwishbone2009 Says:
Mar 12, 2010 - @stopthrm so as for your "Uh, yea your a dumb ass." id say you are since your arguing with some one who used to work for an ISP for 3 1/2 yrs and knows the Terms and Conditions like the back of my hand, some customers (not all as varies on the ISP them selves and each company varies) but you will find as a rule of averages business accounts can only be set to business post codes, otherwise its reffered to the residential side of the company in which your subject to residential T&Cs
Devilzwishbone2009 Says:
Mar 12, 2010 - If your business is large enough you will require commericial premises any way even if its just a corner shop. If its a small business were you can work from home such as PC Repairs (which would require net access) why? Updates installs, Web Design, Driver Downloads, Part Ordering, and like my self i use a VOIP line which is cheaper than standard convential lines were i save over 200.00 GBP a year - No internet = No phone line (no customer calls, no business) so still think the same???
